NeroaMetà Mastroberardino

NeroaMetà Mastroberardino

The result of the white vinification of Aglianico brings to light an ancient family project that places emphasis on the great versatility of this noble and ancient vine. Neroametà represents a tribute to the varietal origin of the black Aglianico grape, which is expressed with persuasive elegance when vinified in white. It is also a tribute to our territorial and cultural origins, to the harmonies and contrasts of the Campania region.

The denomination is that of Bianco Campania IGT. Vinified with 100% pure Aglianico vines. The vineyard is grown within the company boundaries, in the locality of Mirabella Eclano, on soils that have exposure to South-South / East and deep soil, with a sandy loam texture, well-drained, with deep clay.

The Mastroberardino winery is one of the oldest and most important productive realities in Campania, whose history is identified with that of a family of entrepreneur winemakers who has become a point of reference in the Italian wine scene. The origins of this family business date back to the mid-eighteenth century and the winery was officially founded in 1878 in Atripalda, near the town of Avellino, by Angelo Mastroberardino, great-grandfather of the current owner and Knight of the Order of the Crown of Italy. Starting from the end of the nineteenth century, after the phylloxera disaster that destroyed part of the great vine patrimony, the family undertook a long process of rediscovery and enhancement of the native vines and of the typicality of Irpinia, so much so that Antonio Mastroberardino, awarded in 1994 of the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro, he earned the nickname “archaeologist of the vines”.
